New spring wreath

New season means new wreath. My Pinterest board has been full of ideas and I've been itching to craft!

I wanted something springy and still super easy. I decided to stay with my yarn wreaths. This time I opted for a spring green color with pink, purple, and white flowers. I choose a different type of flower than my other yarn wreaths. I'm horrible at taking pictures while I'm crafting. Here is how they turned out, and there is a great tutorial here.

I added a band of pink and white to balance out the flowers. I tend to go flower crazy, and wanted to keep this wreath simple.

I love how the finished wreath turned out. I asked Nate what his opinion was and he said "Looks like we're celebrating a baby girl." I told him I was going for spring, and he said it did that too.

"It all started with coffee, then dinner, then dessert, and then forever."

That is what is written on the front of the card that I got for Nate to celebrate our 4 year anniversary. Only on our firts datet, we started with dinner, then coffee, no dessert, but still forever.
Last year I wrote the story of how we met, so I won't bore you with all of the details again. If you want to read about it, click here.

I know 4 years isn't a long time, but we looked for each other for a very long time, and these 4 years of marriage have been the best 4 years of my life. We have started a family with an amazing son and a daughter on the way. Nate has blesed my life in ways words cannot express.

I love you through and through,  Nate, and I always will. Happy anniversary!

Our Gender Reveal Cupcakes

A few days ago, I posted our gender reveal and promised a post with the details to my cupcakes. Here is said post. :)

I wanted to make something pink, but not boring. I found a link to some cupcakes on Pinterest here and decided to give them a try. I must say, they were yummy!

I used a brownie mix, a strawberry cake mix, and cream cheese frosting. I mixed both cake mixes according to the directions on the box and preheated the over to 350.

After mixing, I put a spoon full of browning batter in each cupcake liner, and then filled the rest with strawberry cake mix until the liner was 3/4 of the way full. I yielded about 2 dz cupcakes.

I put my muffin tins in the oven and then turned the heat down to 325. They baked at 325 for about 25 minutes. Once cooled, I frosted with cream cheese frosting.

This is what it looked like out of the liner.

Cut in half.

Frosted and decorated with pink sprinkles.

I will be making these again, and maybe experimenting with flavors and colors. So easy to make...yummy!
